Responsible sourcing

It is important to us that our suppliers act responsibly, and that they follow SSAB’s own guidelines as well as international sustainability guidelines.

Purchases of goods and services

Sustainability is an integral element of our purchasing activities and in the management of the supply chain. We evaluate our suppliers on the basis of quality, delivery performance, cost and sustainability. SSAB promotes long-term, sustainable development and strives to work with companies that assume ethical, social, environmental and financial responsibility.

Purchasing

Being a supplier to SSAB brings a major responsibility when it comes to everything from sustainability and safety to work on cost improvements. Whether you are an existing or potential supplier, you can find more information about this and many other purchasing-related topics here.

Global Supply Chain

With a global supply chain, it is important to assess supplier risks and suppliers' ability to manage these issues. SSAB purchases products, materials and services from approximately 20,000 suppliers in more than 60 different countries. Purchases include raw materials such as scrap, iron ore and coal, as well as maintenance services and spare parts.

SSAB’s Sustainability Policy for Suppliers

  • Encompasses requirements for working conditions and human rights, health and safety, anti-corruption and the environment.
