General Product Description

The high-strength structural steel Docol S650MC is a hot-rolled steel made for cold forming, with a minimum yield strength of 650 MPa for stronger and lighter structures. Docol S650MC meets or exceeds the requirements of S650MC in EN 10149-2. Typical applications include a wide range of heavy trucks components and parts, such as frame rails and cross-members. Docol S650MC comes in coils, slit coils and cut-to-length sheets.

Dimension Range

Hot rolled / UC: thickness 2.00-10.00 mm, width up to 1600 mm.

Slit strip and cut to length sheets are available upon request.

1) If ReH is not applicable then Rp0.2 is used. On thicknesses >8 mm the minimum yield strength may be 20MPa lower.

2) A80 value applies for thicknesses < 3.00 mm.

3) A5 value applies for thicknesses ≥ 3.00 mm.

4) For both longitudinal and transverse direction.

Tolerances

Hot rolled (UC): Tolerances in accordance to EN 10051.

Customized dimensional and shape tolerances are available upon request.

Surface Treatments

Uncoated (UC): available as black or pickled and oiled.

All surface treatments are in accordance with RoHS directive (2011/65/EU) and do not contain Chromium VI (Cr6+). Surface treatments provide only temporary surface protection during transportation and storage. In order to avoid corrosion damages, care must be taken to keep the products dry during transportation and storage. If they become wet, they must be separated and situated so that they are dried quickly.

Fabrication and Other Recommendations

For information concerning fabrication, see SSAB´s brochures on www.ssab.com or consult Tech Support.

Appropriate health and safety precautions must be taken when bending, welding, cutting, grinding or otherwise working on the products.
